At Amarillo Arts we know that every child learns differently. That is why we have designed a creative workshop that aims to bring the world of the classroom to life and allow the text to jump right out of the page!
Working along side the curriculum and closely with each school and their teachers, we develop a workshop to suit your children and what they are currently learning within the classroom.
Our expertise are in devising and storytelling and our Education Outreach programmes can bring this bespoke package to your primary school.
Drama is a great way of developing communication, confidence and listening skills as well as grasping a greater understanding of the topic in question. Using their new found thirst for knowledge, students learn how to work as part of a group and how to communicate their ideas creatively to each other or even an audience.
All of our talented practitioners have had intensive training and own a valid DBS certificate. Amarillo Workshop leaders are working theatre and TV professionals.....if you like your soaps, you might even recognise them!
Amarillo Adventures:
We lead Curriculum based drama workshops which explore the topics your students are learning about in the classroom through improvisation, role-play, games, songs, and story telling. This is a bespoke package designed with you for your class to aid and inspire their learning. We can help students create their own adaptation of a Greek Myth, explore the world of the Elizabethans or put a classic text into their own words.
This can take shape over several weekly sessions and result in an end of term performance, or can be done on a one off basis.

We can run a weekly after school club for children interested in drama. This is a great way to make new friends or even form your school's own youth theatre company.
Every term has a different theme which is explored and developed using script, music, physical theatre and imagination, lead by working industry professionals for the real taste of theatreland!

Designed to help those children who might struggle to interact within the classroom to find new ways of expression. Whether English isn't their first language, they have problems communicating, or show consistent patterns of challenging behavior, this workshop is dedicated to helping them interact with their peers and develop their learning.
